About

RDH stands for Registered Dental Hygienist. Every registered dental hygienist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is licensed through the Board of Registration in Dentistry and is accountable to the statutes, rules and regulations set forth in Massachusetts General Laws. Dental hygienists must graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program with a certificate, associate, baccalaureate or master's degree, pass the written National Board Examination and a clinical state board examination.

Dental hygienists' specialize preventive oral health using knowledge and clinical skills to prevent, detect, and treat diseases of the oral cavity.

2009 Graduates - may become Active members by logging in to their student membership record at www.adha.org, click on the "Convert Now" link and complete the required information - which includes their new dental hygiene license number. Students may also convert by calling ADHA directly at (800) 243-2342, press 1 or by emailing their name, ADHA ID, license number and state of licensure to member.services@adha.net.
